Main Attractions of Katyayani Peeth

The whole temple is built with white marble, and strong pillars made of black stone supporting it. As you climb the steps to the main yard, you will spot statues of two golden lions - the vahana. What's really cool is that this temple worships five separate groups of deities, called sampradayas. Each group has its own stories and myths that people love to hear. Here the idol of Maa Sati is called as 'Uma' and lord Shiva is worshiped as 'Bhotesh'. Along with the goddess Katyayani ,(Shakt sampradaya) other idols present here are, Lord Shiva (Shaiv sampradaya), Lord Laxmi Naarayan (Vaishnav sampradaya), Lord Ganesh (Ganpataya sampradaya), Lord Surya (Surya Sampradaya). Along with these five main deities, Jagatdhatri Devi is also worshipped here. You can join in the daily pujas and aarti rituals happening here. Mysteries About Katyayani Peeth

According to the legend, King Daksha organized a grand yajna but intentionally omitted inviting his daughter Sati and her husband, Lord Shiva. Feeling deeply offended, Sati sacrificed herself by leaping into the yajna fire. Overwhelmed by grief, Lord Shiva carried her lifeless body, wandering in despair. To restore Shiva's sanctity, Lord Vishnu intervened by dividing Sati's body into 51 pieces. Each part became a sacred Shakti Peeth, and where the ringlets of Sati's hair fell, a shrine was erected, now known as Uma Devi Shakti Peeth.

Another tale linked to Uma Shakti Peeth in Vrindavan involves the gopikas of Braj aspiring for Lord Krishna as their spouse. Following Vrinda Devi's advice, they venerated Goddess Katyayani, a tradition persisting through generations.
